Gr 5 Graduation

What a wonderful Graduation Ceremony!  It was with mixed emotions that we bid our 5th Graders farewell.  They are truly a wonderful group of children.  We know they will continue to make us proud.  Below are pictures from our ceremony and some of the award recipients.

Our business partner Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home
awarded the Best All Around Student to Makayla and Cam.
It was presented by Mr. Newhall and his daughter.

Mrs. Helen Cogan and daughter Rosemary, presented the Cogan Award to Steven for always having a positive attitude, much like Mr. Cogan always did.
The Grifyn Sawyer Award was presented to Breanna and Melissa by grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Comeau.
Elisabeth and Carolina played a wonderful piece.
Kerry shared her talent during the ceremony.
Look for Steven and Chris as future musicians.

Wow!  Our boys really looked handsome!
Mrs. DeLuca and I say congratulations to Breanna.

Yet another Successful Field Day!!!

In true Lynn Woods Style the parents planned and executed a day full of fun and excitement for the students.  The annual field day serves as a reward for working hard all year.  The school yard is filled with a bouncy house, sand art, t-shirt designing, a water arena and water balloon toss.  While the Lynn Woods Park is filled with more traditional field day events that include three legged race, parachute, relays and obstacle course.   Hamburgers and hot dogs were served up for lunch.  Thank you parents!

Goodbye Mr. Don

Recently, we hosted a farewell coffee for Mr. Don who will retire from the Lynn Public Schools this summer.  The students, parents and teachers gathered in the gym to wish him well and share a coffee and donut.  The students presented Don with cards that he completely enjoyed.  Good Luck Mr. Don……enjoy retirement.

Getting ready for summer

The Kindergarten students spent the last few days of school preparing for summer vacation.  They have been enjoying centers.  In their centers they experimented and explored sea glass & sea shells……real hands on learning.

North Shore Navigators visit Lynn Woods

Today the North Shore Navigators players, Dan Slania, Miles Landry, and Crayton Bare visited Lynn Woods Elementary to talk about profiles that have been written about them recently in the Daily Item. The students in these classes have been reading these profiles every week and connecting the profiles to a specific topic in school. The topics vary from math to history with many others in between. These players love to help out the children in the community in which they will be playing in for the summer months of June and July. During these summer months, the Navigators are a collegiate baseball team that is based right here in Lynn, at Fraser Field. All of these players join the team to get extra at bats, more fielding experience, work on pitches and to build stronger players than in their previous season. The Navigators mission for every summer is "Tomorrow's stars chasing today's dreams." This statement goes a long way, especially recently when seven former Navigators players were drafted in the MLB draft. The Navigators home opener is Saturday June
